This is taken from a Phone Call message left on my answering machine on New Years Day 2010 from Frank McKibbin, Best Selling Author of CookBook of foods from Bible Days used with his permission
Hello Gail, This is Frank McKibben
We met at the Talent Show at the Vista Center for Spiritual Discovery and
Gail and I exchanged books, a book my wife and I had written and this beautiful book that she had written. I wanted to tell you how very much it has meant to me to read this book and I'm still reading it every morning. It's really transformational—A remarkable book. You've gone from the world we all know only too well in a manner that takes us right into the spiritual applications that we need to make in our daily lives.
I'll compare it with a manuscript for a book of a friend of mine, I'm reading right now. It's so abstract and so spiritual that it's hard to get traction.
Whereas your book provides an immediate immersion in today's world and than an immediate transformation of spiritual application of the principles you preach.
I just want to thank you immensely. It was a very pricely gift to me and one that I will cherish and I'm sure I will be calling you to get additional copies.
Thank you so much Gail

From Here to Serenity A Spiritual Guide to Transform Your Life
By: Gail Manishor; 2008; 315 pages; $18.95 (pbk); ISBN 978-1-4401-0296-7; Order book at www.gmanishor.com, or from Amazon.com, Barnes&Noble.com
If you're human, you have issues. When Jean-Paul Sartre said, "Hell is other people," he was looking at a secular reality, one in which people push your buttons and bring up your issues. When Gail Manishor says, "God is living as you and through you," she is taking a bigger picture of life, encouraging us to look beyond our issues to the gift hidden within even the worst of situations so that we can see ourselves in the mirror of divine perfection.
From Here to Serenity is a gentle book, a compassionate book filled with stories about real people who found the way to serenity in spite of — or thanks to — their real life issues. |

Gail is a licensed practitioner from Seaside Center for Spiritual Living (formerly Seaside Church). Family health traumas and two failed marriages pushed her to find the strength to surrender, laying the foundation for stepping into a fulfilling relationship and ultimately resolving her alienation from her first husband. Her own compelling story, which comprises three chapters, was all she intended to write. Then other stories came along, stories of people she met along the way; these make up the bulk of the book.
As you read these stories, it's hard not to identify. If it wasn't you who lived through some of these episodes, you're bound to know someone who has. Illness, guilt, grief, sexual harassment, firings, jealousy, unwanted pregnancy, paying karmic debts—it's all here. Each chapter concludes with an affirmation, a meditative guide, and action steps to finding a new and healthier perspective on life's challenges.
And with all that comes the wisdom of learning how to stay centered in the God that is all love and all good, to walk through your fears and emerge triumphant, and ultimately to earn the capacity be the light in a room filled with troubled souls.
From Here to Serenity will lead you through your own issues to your destination of serenity. I highly recommend it; I am indebted to Paul Lloyd Warner, who redesigned the typesetting for the book, for bringing it to my attention. This is a book I believe just about anyone will find reward in reading.

loving inspiration, May 5, 2009
This book is written from a loving point of view. The personal stories of life's challenges and the blessings found after the situations were worked through are inspirational. Sage wisdom and positive affirmations give the reader, who may be experiencing a current difficult situation, a means to handle their own moments of dis - ease. Mine came on page 197. |

Fantastic in All Ways, April 19, 2009
From Here To Serenity: A Spiritual Guide to Transform Your Life When I first got the book I thought that I would scan through it and then set it aside as I usually did with a new book. I started to look at parts of some of the chapters and really liked them. Then I went to the beginning and thought I would read for a little while before going to sleep. I read the first eight chapters right then because I couldn't put it down. I finished it the next day. This book is a must have for anyone! The treatment of the life stories is so complete with all kinds of suggestions, such as blessings, things to read, things to write, and physical activity, at the end of each chapter for anyone with a similar problem to benefit. That isn't all!!! At the beginning and at the end of the book are practical suggestions for stress-free, loving, more peaceful, and richer living for anyone wishing to be the best person he could be. This book could be used as a reference book for anyone facing just about anything |

I've just read Gail Manishor's new book "From Here to Serenity". This book is so timely. It is a compilation of new wisdom and reminders of wisdom from the past. Gail's words "ring true" because she shares with us her own personal experiences which have given her the insight to truly help others. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to find peace and Serenity even in these difficult times.
